Especially beautiful is the Mourning Flies and Todd's dedications on it. His solo over the end is gorgeous.

Subject: Festival Setting to note...
I think it's important to note just how beautifully nature played along with the music here. From my angle up "the hill" (in front of the grand tee-pee, the big dipper was right over the stage and it looked as if it were pouring down musical star-streams. Just before Peace on Earth, the moon was rising 180 degrees on the other side behind us....Behind the stage was the glow of multi-color festival tents that made it look like a renaissance fair... It seemed as if the band was really trying extra hard to put on an especially good and tight show within their seemingly short set at a bluegrass festival. I'd have to say they improved 100% since seeing them two years ago in the same place... Several hundred folks were on their feet in the front with another 9,000 on the hill just saying "wow"... Most were seeing RE for the first or second time. They made plenty of new fans this night. I'd have to say I was taken back by just how profound the fiddle player makes the lyrics and musical transitions... seemed like a Jean Luc Ponty playing along...

Subject: A nice, 91-minute show
I sure hate to use a blank for just two songs, which is what it comes down to, but in this case it's worth it. This show was very nicely recorded and is worth downloading -- even if CD2 is on the brief side.
I sure do love Acadian Driftwood. That's what got me to DL this in the first place. It's like any show with Black Bear is gonna get a DL, too. Some of RRE's songs just are so damn fine! The show after this, 7/16/06 is worth a download too.
Anyway, nice selection of songs, a briefish performance, but a very clear recording. Thumbs up from me...
